and while I was doing the spacemix I started 2 remixes…or versions…or whatever you want to call it…from Moreno’s album MPC just released on Bakshish Music.

this is the first one.

I used as sources 4 tracks from it ( Session #99 / 4drums /scramble 2001 / fishing…you can ck them in the soundcloud player of the album)…and added drums and FM synths. (loving Operator more and more).
this is a first take…recorded live (no timeline) in Ableton using the launchpad and many knobs.

and this is a mix I just did with all the tracks from Master Margherita : MPC.

heavily dubbed, vocoded and phased…a live take plus some edits…in Ableton.

just released on Bakshish Music the new album by moreno…collecting material he recorded and mixed between 1998 and 2001 on an akai mpc.
I reckon it is very interesting stuff…and still sounds fresh.
I did the (re)mastering for it…and it was a challenge…since the mixes where originally done on DAT…already compressed and kind of rough.
I am very happy with the result.

I started with the idea of remixing this track from next album by moreno on Bakshish Music

Master Margherita – Sul filo

but then I ended up with something very different…even if all the sounds in it are coming from the source (the mix above)
I layered it on few channels with different strips, mainly vocoders,resonators and reaktor (travellizer fx)…
I played live with it…did some edits…and last night (with the help of a little mushroom I found here in the field) I did this mix.
(maybe need some polishing…maybe not…)

I mastered it and produced the first track “moded”…I think is good. :-)
